Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 ¼ cups sifted flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg and lemon. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and add gradually to the batter. Chill. Using a cookie press, press shapes onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° 10-12 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.
