• 2 cups raw onions
  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt


Preheat oven to 350°. Line a cookie sheet with foil, dull side up. Put the almonds in the pan in a single layer. Roast the almonds for 10 minutes.
In a large skillet, bring honey, water and oil to a boil. Add nuts and cook them in this syrup until the syrup has disappeared and has coated the nuts. Mix the sugar and salt together and sprinkle it on the nuts and toss. Pour the nuts back onto the foil coated cookie sheet and let them cool and dry.
