Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ½ teaspoon nutmeg (opt)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup raisins
  • cup pecans
  • 6 cups stale French bread, diced
  • ¾ cup butter, melted

Directions

Into a large blender add eggs and blend on medium speed for 30-35 seconds until eggs are lemon color. Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter and blend on medium speed until throughly slended. Add milk and cream and mix. Fold in raisins and pecans.
In a large bowl, pour the liquid over the bread cubes and fold until mixed. Pour mixture into a thoroughly greased baking dish (small lasagna pan). Bake at 325° for 35-40 minutes. Increase temperature to 425° and cook until well browned. (Not more than 10 minutes). Serve warm with cream.
