• 10 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • cinnamon, to taste
  • 12 slices thick cut French Brea
  • sliced fruit (peaches, apples, pears)


Mix sugar, butter and water and head until bubbling. Pour into 9x13 baking dish. Place sliced peaches or apples or pears in dish and cover with bread slices. Mix eggs, vanilla, and milk and pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Next day, uncover and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
