• ½ cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced 3/4 inch slices


Combine margarine and brown sugar in a saucepan and let it get bubbly. Whisk together eggs and milk. Put margarine mixture on the bottom of an 11X13 pan, ungreased. Lay the bread slices in a single layer on top of this mixture. Pour milk and egg mixture over bread. Cover with foil and let stand in refrigerator overnight. Uncover. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
