Meat! Meat! Lasagna


  • ½ package lasagna noodles, boiled and drained
  • 1 big jar Ragu Old World Style Meat Sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cubes frozen homemade pesto, stored in ice cube tray
  • 1 tsp Penzey's Pasta Sprinkle
  • 2 large italian sausages, casings removed
  • ¼ pound ground beef
  • ½ large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic


Saute onion and garlic together in Pam. Then, add hamburger and sausage and cook until brown. Drain on a plate covered with paper towels.

For the cheesy filling, mix ricotta, parmesan, egg, Penzey's seasoning, and pesto together. Add a little salt and pepper to taste, if you like.

For the layers: Put 1/3 cup sauce in the bottom of an 8x8 pan. Layer noodles on top of the sauce. You may have to cut the noodles so that they fit in the pan.

Put cheesy filling on top of the noodles. Put meat on top of cheesy filling. Top meat with 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese. Pour a little more sauce on top.
Repeat this process. You want to end up with a noodle layer on top, and sauce and mozzarella on the very top.

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until the cheese is brown and bubbly.
