Mango Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon B Grade Maple Syrup
  • 1 carton fat free vanilla yogurt

Method

1) Take 1 cup frozen strawberries and 1 cup mango chunks, and put them in the 4 cup pyrex. Do not cover them. Microwave them on full power for 1 minute 30 seconds.

2) Put 1 tablespoon of B Grade Maple Syrup in the bottom of the hard plastic smoothie container. When the fruit is done microwaving, put it in the container with the syrup. Put the blender attachment on the blender and set it to level 2.

3) Pulverize the fruit with the blender until it is very smooth and uniform, and so you can't see any chunks of fruit any more.

4) Take the blender out of the container straight up, tapping the blender head against the side of the container carefully to get as much of the pulverized fruit off and back into the smoothie as you can. Place the blender head on a paper towel so that the drips do not get on the countertop. Take care with the blender cord. It has a tendency to tip the blender over. Maybe you should wear an apron.

5) Put one container of vanilla yogurt into the smoothie container with the fruit. Put the blender back in and blend the smoothie until uniform color and texture are attained-you want all the white of the yogurt to disappear. Take the blender out again as in step 4 and set it on a paper towel so that the drips do not get on the countertop.

6) Put four ice cubes in the smoothie. Set the blender to level 4 and crush the ice into the smoothie using the blender. Work the ice cubes to the bottom of the container and then crush them with an up and down motion. Listen to the motor--it will labor less when the ice cubes are completely crushed.
