Icing for Pittsburgh Science Museum Cake


  • 8 ounces heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate


Bring cream to a boil, stirring often. As soon as it boils, remove from heat. Add chocolate and stir until melted and consistently colored. Cool to room temperature. Place cooling rack with cake onto baking sheet. Once icing is cool but still pourable, pour onto cooled cake and spread around sides, chill. Scrape unused icing into container. Chill until icing has hardened. Serve.
